Velika Lotwala, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant with a passion for medical dermatology. Her formal education and training include:
- Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) – BA, Broadcast Journalism
- Pacific University (Hillsboro, OR) – MS, Physician Assistant Studies
Prior to working in dermatology, Velika spent several years working as an investigative reporter at KPHO News Channel 5 and focused on medical and science journalism.
She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is an active member of the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), the Arizona Dermatology Physician Assistant Society (ADPAS), and the Physician Assistants for Global Health (PAGH). She completed a fellowship through the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants and is a Diplomate Fellow. She is adjunct faculty at both Pacific and Midwestern universities, teaching dermatology. She is also a mentor to pre-PA students.
Velika became passionate about dermatology from an early age due to her own personal struggles. Patients love her calm demeanor, ability to simplify complex issues for them, and thoroughness in her exams.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching documentaries, reading fiction books, traveling, yoga, and spending time with her niece and nephews.
